Our knitting machine classes are designed for complete beginners — no experience required, just curiosity. You'll learn how these incredible machines work from the inside out: how stitches are formed, how to set up and run a knitting machine, and how to take a project from a blank needle bed to a finished, wearable piece. By the end of your first class, you'll have made something real with your own two hands.
Whether you're dreaming of knitting gifts for the people you love, building a small handmade business, or just looking for a new creative outlet that doesn't take a lifetime to master, machine knitting might be exactly what you didn't know you were missing. It's relaxing, satisfying, and just a little bit magical the first time you watch a row of fabric appear in seconds.
We teach on knitting machines and ribbers — the same machines beloved by makers, designers, and crafters for decades — and we keep classes small so you get real, hands-on guidance every step of the way.
Open to ages 14 and up. No experience necessary. Just bring your hands and your curiosity — we'll teach you the rest.

Studio Membership
At Rainbow Feathers Farm Knitting Studio, we know not everyone has the space — or the budget — to own one of these amazing machines, but that shouldn't stop you from creating beautiful, handmade pieces to wear and share with the people you love.
That's why we offer a Knitting Studio Membership: for a small monthly fee, you get access to our knitting machines during any scheduled Open Knitting time.
Open Knitting Hours

Tuesdays & Thursdays: 6:00pm – 9:00pm

Saturdays: 10:00am - 3:00pm
Each session is limited to 8 people, so everyone has plenty of room to work and access to a machine. Please RSVP in advance to reserve your spot — space fills up!
What's Included
Members have full access to our knitting machines and studio accessories, including ribbers, transfer tools, and the lace carriage. I'll be in the studio during open knitting time working on my own projects, and I'm happy to help if you get stuck or have a quick question. Open Knitting time is self-directed practice time — it's not a substitute for our Beginner Class or one-on-one private trainings, which are scheduled separately and do have their own cost.
Bring your own yarn, or use ours and pay only for the weight you use. Pricing varies by fiber content and yarn weight.
Pricing

Membership: $50/month — unlimited access to all scheduled Open Knitting sessions, month-to-month with no long-term commitment. Cancel any time.

Drop-in: $15/session — perfect if you'd rather pay as you go, or want to try it out before committing to a membership.
Getting Started
To join the Knitting Studio with a membership (or to attend a drop-in session), completion of our Beginner Class is required. This ensures everyone using the studio machines understands proper setup and care — protecting the equipment and helping you get the most out of every minute on the machines.
